Hartford HealthCare Expands Extensive Digital Signage Network with New 47,000 Sq. Ft. Mystic, CT Facility
With 24,000 employees and an ever-expanding number of care facilities, Hartford HealthCare has cultivated a strong, unified culture of accountability and innovation. Serving 161 towns and cities, the network’s services include two tertiary-level teaching hospitals, an acute-care community teaching hospital, an acute-care hospital and trauma center, three community hospitals, the state’s most extensive behavioral health network, a large multispecialty physician group, a clinical care organization, a regional home care system, an array of senior care services, and a large physical therapy and rehabilitation network. The Hartford HealthCare (HHC) network can be found at more than 350 locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island. The newest addition to the HHC network is the purpose-built 47,000 square foot multi-specialty, primary care center located in Mystic, CT.

CHALLENGE
HHC needed to find a meaningful way to educate patients, staff and visitors coming to the new facility. Logistics and HHC’s core messaging, mission and values all needed to be considered in finding the best way to engage and inform people, which can allow the organization to achieve their top priority of providing the strongest patient-based outcomes possible.
OPPORTUNITY
Quast Media and Hartford HealthCare have a long and successful partnership in identifying digital solutions for real-world problems. The two companies have collaborated to create a comprehensive digital signage network of more than 200 displays for HHC throughout their service market in CT. By working closely with HHC’s marketing department, Quast Media creates fresh content on a daily basis, and has developed a unique process to research, develop and manage potential unique daily content while providing outstanding remote monitoring of all digital signs as well as onsite technical support and maintenance.
SOLUTION
In early 2019, Quast Media began to work with staff from Hartford HealthCare Medical Group Facilities, building architects, and construction management personnel to develop a plan to best meet the messaging goals for HHC’s new Mystic, CT facility. This collaboration resulted in a comprehensive plan that included installation of 29 displays throughout the 3-story building to be used as Digital Directories, Mission & Values Displays, Check-In Displays, Digital Marketing Displays, and staff lounge monitors. This new network of digital signage ensures that HHC’s core values of CARING, SAFETY, EXCELLENCE and INTEGRITY are represented through meaningful content and on full display for all to see!
RESULTS
After a two-week installation process, HHC began putting this digital messaging network to great use in the new Mystic facility! Here are a few ways that each component in the network is making a difference:
